Get ready for an epic kayaking tour that’s way more than just a paddle in Resurrection Bay, the fjord nearest Seward. We’re here to make sure you have an unforgettable experience from start to finish!

We’ll pick you up from our Seward Harbor location and take you on a fun, narrated tour of Seward’s waterfront and historic downtown. Then, we’ll cruise down Lowell Point Road to our launch beach.

Once we get there, you’ll meet our friendly guides, gear up with all the essentials, and get a quick rundown on kayaking and safety basics. After that, it’s time to hit the water! You’ll explore the beautiful shoreline of Resurrection Bay and our State Recreation Area.

When you’re done soaking up the scenery, your driver-guide will be ready to take you back to Seward. On the way, we’ll give you some awesome tips on where to eat, what to do, and other places to check out. We’ll drop you off at our Small Boat Harbor office with memories of an amazing day on the water.

The Resurrection Bay Tour offers an easy, scenic introduction to kayaking in Seward, Alaska. After meeting at our downtown harbor office, guests enjoy a short narrated drive through Seward while learning about local history and life in this coastal community.

At the launch site, our experienced guides provide a thorough paddling orientation and safety briefing before escorting guests along the shoreline of Resurrection Bay and nearby state recreation areas. After a narrated drive and on-water orientation, guests paddle along Resurrection Bay’s rugged shoreline at a comfortable pace. Midway through the experience, the group steps ashore to explore the forest on foot, offering a chance to experience Alaska’s landscapes beyond the kayak.

After a narrated drive from Seward and a thorough paddling orientation, guests kayak approximately 3–5 miles along the shoreline, stopping to explore on foot and take in the surrounding scenery. A picnic lunch is included, providing time to rest, refuel, and enjoy the setting.

Caines Head Kayak & Hike Combo

The Caines Head Kayak & Hike is our most physically demanding and adventurous day trip. This private, full-day experience is designed for very active travelers seeking an adventurous way to explore Alaska’s rugged coastline.

This private departure includes approximately 10 miles of round-trip sea kayaking combined with a 5-mile trail hike through remote coastal terrain. Guests should expect a long day that requires endurance, comfort in variable conditions, and a strong sense of adventure. A picnic lunch is included, along with highly experienced guides.

Due to the challenging nature of this tour, all Caines Head trips are offered as private departures to ensure appropriate pacing, flexibility, and attention to guest needs.
