This fully guided tour checks in one hour before departure at the Adventure Center. Boarding begins one half hour prior to departure and is followed a one-hour wildlife cruise through the protected waters of Resurrection Bay before arriving at Fox Island.

Fox Island: Halibut Cove to Sunny Cove or North Fox Island

Our exclusive unique combo tour begins at the Seward Boat Harbor. Once at Fox Island this tour allows you to experience a half-day of sea kayaking combined with a half-day wildlife cruise of Resurrection Bay, the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park. Secluded coves, bold sea stack formations and waters alive with wildlife await you. Check out the sea lions hauled out for their nap as puffin, cormorants, kittiwakes and murres nest on the nearby cliffs.

This tour includes a short wildlife cruise through Resurrection Bay followed by a brief orientation, and kayaking steep cliffs while plying the waters along the shoreline of Fox Island, watching for otters and puffin. Upon returning to Fox Island you’ll enjoy a salmon & prime rib buffet, followed by a wildlife cruise watching for whales and sea lions as you make your way through Resurrection Bay. *Early and late-season tours depart at 8:00 am.

Fox Island: halibut Cove to Sunny Cove or North Fox Island

Departing from Seward Small Boat Harbor, this tour allows you to experience an afternoon paddle at remote and beautiful Fox Island. Located at the entrance of Resurrection Bay just 12 nautical miles from Seward, Fox Island is a magical mix of temperate rain forest, sculpted cliffs, sea stacks, protected coves and long pebbled beaches. The surrounding waters have abundant marine life including sea lions, sea otters, orcas and whales. Peregrine falcons, bald eagles and kittiwakes are often seen flying above while puffin dive for dinner.

Fox Island: Halibut Cove to Humpy Cove or God’s Pocket

Departing from Seward’s Boat Harbor, this tour allows you to explore Fox Island's coastline of sheer ocean cliffs and deep forest cloaked coves. Your day may include a visit to Fox Island Spit, exploration of Kayaker's and Humpy Cove, paddling into God's Pocket or if perfect sea conditions and weather permits, circumnavigation of Fox Island. Your route will be chosen at your guide's discretion with consideration of wind, waves, tides, weather and the groups abilities and comfort levels. Along the way we'll stop for a stretch and a picnic lunch on one of the cobblestone beaches dotting the coastline.

Upon arrival to the island, meeting your guide and instruction, we'll have about 5.5 hours (up to 12 miles) of kayaking. Watch the cliffs for perching eagles and puffins and the turquoise waters for seals, sea lions and whales. Mid-day, we'll stop for a beachside picnic lunch on a pebbled beach. After, we’ll spend the afternoon exploring the nooks and crannies of Fox Island while making our way back to Halibut Cove. Children 12 and up are welcome to kayak with an adult in our two-person kayaks.
