We've Been Exploring Seward and beyond for more than two decades
2020 marks our 25th anniversary of leading amazing tours Resurrection Bay, Fox Island and Kenai Fjords National Park! We've been around these fjords, since 1996! Most of our guides have been with us for years and are experts when it comes to sea kayaking, Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park. Together, they have a combined expertise of 36 years of kayaking in the Seward area!
We're Safe, Fun and we Care about you, your experience and our community
We are proud of our experienced staff of outdoor professionals. Our guides are organized, detail oriented people who love to share an enthusiasm for kayaking, nature and Alaska. They are energetic, fun and have a passion to do their jobs to the best of their ability. They genuinely care and love to make real connections with each other and their guests, creating the best experience possible.
Our guides are chosen because they are enthusiastic outdoor educators and skilled kayaking instructors who enjoy sharing their love of kayaking and the natural world. Our training program lasts more than three weeks and our guides are expected to continue learning throughout the season. To learn more take a look at our safety and training overview.
Our knowledgeable reservation staff is ready to answer any of your questions. They are also experienced outdoor enthusiasts who are very familiar with Alaska. Our goal is to make it easy for you to explore and appreciate this dynamic place.
Several of our staff members are also year-round Sewardites who enjoy investing their time and know-how in the community. You can find them organizing the Skip & Marie Fletcher Winter Family Movie Series, putting together the Seward Music & Arts Festival, helping out with the Seward Nordic Ski Club or helping promote tourism on the Seward Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors or fundraising for Save our Seward Pets.
We never up-charge for equipment
All of our tours begin with gearing up, a paddling orientation and a safety talk. We’ll provide you with a personal flotation device (PFD), spray skirt, waterproof boots, pogies (neoprene mitts) and if needed, we also have splash jackets and splash pants to help keep you dry. All of these extras are always included in our advertised prices.
We're highly reviewed

We're environmental stewards
We believe Resurrection Bay, Fox Island and Kenai Fjords National Park should be preserved for your children and grandchildren (and their grandchildren!). To help make that happen Sunny Cove operates in an environmentally sustainable fashion and advocates for others to do the same.
We practice Leave No Trace Ethics and our guides share these practices with our guests and community. Additionally, our commitment to sustainable tourism has been recognized by Adventure Green Alaska as a Gold Level Certified Business. Learn more about our environmental practices by visiting our Sustainable Kayaking page.
We offer Kayaking in Three unique Locations
