FOX ISLAND AFTERNOON Sea KAYAKING
Experience an afternoon paddle at remote and beautiful Fox Island. Located at the entrance of Resurrection Bay just 12 nautical miles from Seward, Fox Island is a magical mix of temperate rain forest, sculpted cliffs, sea stacks, protected coves and long pebbled beaches. The surrounding waters have abundant marine life including sea lions, sea otters, orcas and whales. Peregrine falcons, bald eagles and kittiwakes are often seen flying above while puffin dive for dinner.

This tour includes a short wildlife cruise through Resurrection Bay followed by a hearty Alaska Salmon & prime rib buffet lunch, combined with an afternoon of kayaking brilliant turquoise waters along the shoreline of Fox Island, watching for otters and puffin. Upon returning to Fox Island you’ll enjoy another short wildlife cruise watching for seals and sea lions as you make your way to Seward.

This fully guided tour checks in by 11:00 am at the Adventure Center. Boarding begins at 11:15 am and is followed a one-hour wildlife cruise to Fox Island, a wild Alaska salmon and prime rib buffet-style lunch, followed by about 1/2 hour of kayaking instruction with approximately 2.5 hours (2-3 miles) of kayaking. End your day with a one hour wildlife cruise back to Seward with Kenai Fjords Tours. Children 8 and up are welcome to kayak with an adult in our two-person kayaks. *Pogies and rain wear are available on an as needed basis.

ROUTE
The kayaking portion of this fully guided tour meets in Halibut Cove after your arrival on Fox Island. We'll spend the next half hour getting you outfitted with kayaking gear and running through basic kayaking instruction on the beach. After our instruction we'll have about 2.5 hours (2-3 miles) of kayaking along the rugged shoreline of Fox Island.
