FOX ISLAND AFTERNOON Sea KAYAKING

Experience an afternoon paddle at remote and beautiful Fox Island.  Located at the entrance of Resurrection Bay just 12 nautical miles from Seward, Fox Island is a magical mix of temperate rain forest, sculpted cliffs, sea stacks, protected coves and long pebbled beaches. The surrounding waters have abundant marine life including sea lions, sea otters, orcas and whales. Peregrine falcons, bald eagles and kittiwakes are often seen flying above while puffin dive for dinner.

ROUTE

The kayaking portion of this fully guided tour meets in Halibut Cove after your arrival on Fox Island.  We'll spend the next half hour getting you outfitted with kayaking gear and running through basic kayaking instruction on the beach.  After our instruction we'll have about 2.5 hours (2-3 miles) of kayaking along the rugged shoreline of Fox Island.

12pm - 6:30pm Daily: May 18 to August 25, 2019

Check in for this tour is at the Adventure Center at Seward's Boat Harbor. Once you're checked in you'll board a Kenai Fjords Tours boat to Fox Island.  Upon arrival to the island you'll enjoy a Alaska salmon & prime rib buffet.  After lunch we'll spend the next half hour getting you outfitted with paddling gear and running through basic kayaking instruction on the beach.  After our instruction we'll have about 2.5 hours (2-3 miles) of kayaking. Children 8 and up are welcome to kayak with an adult in our two-person kayaks.

This fully guided tour includes a one-hour wildlife cruise to Fox Island, a wild Alaska salmon and prime rib buffet-style lunch, followed by about 1/2 hour of kayaking instruction with approximately 2.5 hours (2-3 miles) of kayaking. End your day with a chocolate cookie on the one hour cruise with Kenai Fjords Tours back to Seward.  We provide kayaking guides and gear including rubber boots, pogies and dry bag.  *Pogies and rain wear are available on an as needed basis. Price does not include taxes and fees.
