As Thanksgiving has recently passed, we at Sunny Cove are reminded how thankful we are for the amazing staff we have. While we miss our crew greatly during the off season, we love hearing what great adventures everybody has been up to. Let's take a look at what Kat has been up to!
After finishing her 2nd season as a Sunny Cove guide, Kat decided to explore the Pacific Northwest coast with a nice long drive down to the lower 48 from Alaska. On her travels, she saw herds of wild buffalo, went for a swim in Liard Hot Springs while viewing the Northern Lights, and completed her goal of visiting all 50 states!
Once in the lower 48, Kat hiked 100 miles of the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail), explored REI in Seattle, and discovered her new favorite food ever in Portland (olive oil ice cream). She finally made it to California where she hiked to the tallest tree in America in Redwood National Park and is currently working on a farm milking goats and baking homemade bread.
Come the new year, Kat plans to volunteer on a ranch in Argentina before making her way back north to her summer home of Seward, Alaska. We love Kat's adventurous spirit and are excited to see her back next summer!
