Caines Head Kayak & Hike Combo

Kayak Seward, Alaska-9:00am to 5:00pm-Experience the beauty of Resurrection Bay and its plentiful marine life on our kayaking excursion from Lowell Point State Recreation Site to Caines Head State Recreation Area. Enjoy a beach side lunch and a hike up to a waterfall, or if the weather permits, to an abandoned World War II subterranean fort overlooking Resurrection Bay.

Our day begins at our Lowell Point gear shed where we meet and check in by 8:50 am. After outfitting and kayak instruction we paddle the shoreline of Caines Head State Recreation Area. As we paddle quietly, surrounded by mountains and glacial vistas, we watch for sea otters and harbor porpoise. We land midday and enjoy our lunch shore side before beginning our hike to a beautiful waterfall or Fort McGilvray for an overview of Resurrection Bay.

This is a great opportunity to combine both hiking and paddling for those looking for adventure. This is an active day requiring up to 10 miles of paddling and five miles of hiking. This excursion includes lunch, beverages and snacks. Children 12 and up are welcome to paddle this excursion with an adult in our two person kayaks.

Kayak Tour Alaska-9:00am to 3:00pm-This family-oriented tour is perfect for those looking for a more relaxing day of kayaking and hiking. Our day will include a paddle along the coastline and hiking through a temperate rain forest.

Our day begins at our Lowell Point gear shed where we meet and check in by 8:50 am. After outfitting and kayak instruction paddle the shoreline of Lowell Point State Recreation Site. As we kayak quietly, surrounded by mountains and glacial vistas, we watch for sea otters and harbor porpoise. We'll explore Tonsina Point with its ghost forest, late season salmon stream and beautiful mountain views from its beach. Enjoy a beach side lunch and possibly a visit to a waterfall. This excursion includes lunch, beverages and snacks. Children 8 and up are welcome to paddle this excursion with an adult in our two person kayaks.
