grand day tour: whale watching, tidewater glacier viewing and sea kayaking
Searching for that up-close and personal Alaska whale
watching, tidewater glacier viewing and sea kayaking experience, but don't have the time or inclination for a
multi-day camping trip? This is the trip for you!
Our morning starts with a wildlife tour aboard our local charter boat. Your captain will transport you to AIalik (eye-al-ick) Bay with stops along the way to view wildlife. You may see whales, harbor seals, Steller sea lions, tufted and horned puffins, bald eagle, Dall porpoise, orca and more. Upon reaching Holgate Arm we will launch our kayaks and paddle amidst some of the most spectacular scenery coastal Alaska has to offer. Crackling ice, towering glaciers and wildlife encounters will bedazzle your senses as we spend the afternoon paddling. After paddling you'll enjoy an Alaskan lunch aboard the boat as you make your way back towards Seward. -12 years old and up, unless booked as a private tour-

"My husband and I decided to splurge on Sunny Cove's Grand Day Tour and it was absolutely worth the cost-a unique way to experience the serenity and majesty of Alaska. Abundant wildlife, spectacular scenery, and a guide who was extremely knowledgeable and personable."
"The Grand Day Tour with Sunny Cove Kayaking was the highlight of our trip!"
"We went on the Grand Tour. It was amazing. The scenery was unbelievable and kayaking through made it even better. Our guide, Audrey, was very helpful and just a pleasure to kayak with. The boat ride out was great. We saw a lot of whales. This trip was well worth the money."
"We charted the grand tour - all day that included a boat trip out to a rocky beach where we got in kayaks and were able to get within less than a mile from a beautiful glacier. We saw orcas, humpbacks, porpoises, puffins, an eagle, sea lions, sea otters and a black bear. The Captain Devin, his deck hand Nate and our guide Brian were all outstanding. Each knew a great deal about the area and wildlife. Brian was the one who actually taught us about sea kayaking in frigid waters and did an excellent job. He was personable, knowledagable, and an excellent teacher for four sea kayaking novices. He was also very attentive during the kayaking trip to make sure we were all fine and safe. This was by far the highlight of a two week Alaskan trip which overall was outstanding."
