RESURRECTION BAY KAYAKING: Lowell Point State Recreation Area to Tonsina Point

Experience the beauty of Seward's Resurrection Bay with its abundant marine life and beautiful mountain glacier vistas on this sea kayaking excursion from Lowell Point. On this trip we commonly encounter sea otters, sea birds, harbor seals, bald eagles and leaping salmon. In late summer, if the tide is right, we may paddle our kayaks a short way up Tonsina Creek to see hundreds of spawning salmon. If the tide is low we may beach our kayaks to take a short stroll along the shoreline of Tonsina Point. All of our trips are fully guided and use stable and efficient tandem (two-person) kayaks allowing both novices and aspiring experts to kayak comfortably.

Our fully guided day begins just two miles south of Seward at our Lowell Point launch where we meet and check in 15 minutes before trip time.  We'll then spend the next half hour getting you outfitted with paddling gear and running through basic kayaking instruction on the beach.   After our instruction we'll have about 2.5 hours (2-3 miles) of kayaking along the shoreline of Resurrection Bay.

8:00am to 11:00am: Start your day with a quiet morning kayak. Mornings are often calm making this a favorite kayak trip for families. Children 8 and up are welcome to kayak with an adult in our two-person kayaks.

12:00pm to 3:00pm: A delightful way to spend an afternoon in Seward enjoying our local wildlife and beautiful views. Children 8 and up are welcome to kayak with an adult in our two-person kayaks.

4:00pm to 7:00pm: Late afternoons in Resurrection Bay tend to see a bit more wind  making this a more active tour. Groups with small children are encouraged to kayak the morning and early afternoon trips. Children 12 and up are welcome to kayak with an adult in our two-person kayaks.

$70.00 per person
