Fox Island Escape

Ever dream of escaping to a remote wilderness island? Located at the entrance to Resurrection Bay, 14 nautical miles from Seward, Fox Island is a magical mix of temperate rain forest, sculpted cliffs, protected coves and long pebbled beaches. The surrounding waters have abundant marine life including sea lions, sea otters, orcas and humpback whales. Fox Island is also the home of the Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge. This three day lodge based adventure vacation includes transportation to Fox Island, a full day of sea kayaking, wildlife viewing, beach combing, two nights of lodging at the Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge, wonderful meals and a Kenai Fjords Glacier and Wildlife Cruise into Kenai Fjords National Park.

-Day One- Check in for your cruise to Fox Island is at 8:15 am at the Kenai Fjords Tours office adjacent to the Small Boat Harbor in Seward, Alaska. A short cruise through Resurrection Bay will take you to Fox Island where the friendly crew of Fox Island will help you settle into your accommodations.

-Day Two- A hearty breakfast prepares you for our full day paddle. Meet your guides on the cobblestone beach for kayak instruction before we head out to explore the coastline of Fox Island. Midway through our excursion we will relax on another beach as we enjoy our bakery lunch and soak in the scenery. A fantastic dinner and an evening of solitude awaits your return to the Lodge.

-Day Three- After your final breakfast on Fox Island you will board a Kenai Fjords Tours boat and spend your day exploring Northwestern Fjord. Along the way watch for humpback whales, orcas, Dahl's porpoise, sea otters and a plethora of sea birds. Your 6:00 pm return to Seward marks the end of this excursion.
