A Day in the Life of a Guide: Training

New guides practicing their paddle talk
The season is starting to pick up and we were excited to bring on some new dynamic guides this season.
Our newbs start of the season by going through two intensive weeks of training to learn everything they need to know about our waters, Seward, and the wildlife, ecology, and history of the areas to make them excellent naturalists on the water with our guests.
Training consists of shadowing returning guides on all of our trips, performing rescue skills out in Resurrection Bay, and gaining a knowledge base and presenting on relevant information that may come up while on a trip. We are excited that our new guides finished up their training last week and are ready to tackle the busy season ahead!
