Memorial Day Weekend

Sunny Cove is kicking off Memorial Day weekend with some great trips!
Today we were privileged to paddle with two men serving in our armed forces stationed up in Anchorage. Peter and Steve can be seen here standing on the edge of the ghost forest of Tonsina Creek. The ghost forest was created in the 1964 earthquake when the shoreline sank 6 feet in a matter of minutes drowning any trees whose roots fell below the new sea level. Several of these forests can be seen along the shoreline around Resurrection Bay. Fog covered the bay at the start of today’s paddle, but as you can see, the sun was shining brightly by the end of our trip. Hope everybody is having a great Memorial Day weekend and if you are up for a trip, come join us on the water!
