This overnight is especially appropriate for families. Thumb Cove is a beautiful little cove that offers spectacular views, protected camping and paddling. It's a great spot to introduce kids to the wildness of Alaska. The cobblestone beach offers lots of play opportunities while the cove waters are perfect for short paddles in our very stable tandem (two person) kayaks. Sunny Cove guides are good at putting together a mix of activities that keep kids and adults happy.

hanging glaciers on this two-day adventure suitable for a family adventure. Walk the cobblestone beach or paddle to a salmon stream. Relax and count bald eagles while the kids create a fort out of driftwood. This trip is family paced and starts with a boat trip across Resurrection Bay to Thumbs Cove.

overnights at Caines Head State Recreation Area. This is a beautiful area that offers encounters with numerous species of wildlife, from sea otters and sea lions to bald eagles and many varieties of sea birds. Trails at Caines Head provide spectacular views of Resurrection Bay and the Gulf of Alaska. Caines Head provides a fun active outing at a budget price.

From the pebbled beaches and hanging glacier vistas of Lowell Point we begin our adventure into Resurrection Bay. We kayak in our very stable tandem (two person) kayaks along the shoreline where encounters with sea lions, otters, numerous sea birds, bald eagles, and leaping salmon are common. An overnight at Caines Head State Recreation Area allows hiking or a sunset paddle to end the first day. We spend the second day exploring as we work our way back to Lowell Point.
